This week's illustrated quote isn't finished, but below is an image of the work in progress.
The first time I saw this excerpt from T.S. Eliot's poem "Burnt Norton" was in one of Anne Lamott's books, on a page preceding a chapter or section of the book. I was stopped immediately by it. Like the entire poem, it seems difficult to understand at first, but there is also this immediate recognition of its truth. At least that's how it was for me. After years of having this idea in my life, I understand it much better. For those interested, the entire poem belongs to a collection of four poems by T. S. Eliot entitled Four Quartets.
I'll post the finished version as soon as I can.
