Another summer tile
This tile is in keeping with the tile in the previous post -- it has the same energy, is inspired by the same feelings and ideas.
This is what I enjoy about non-representational (abstract) imagery: there is something going on here, in the sense that the tangles (patterns) work together in harmony and do not appear completely random. On the other hand, I had no plan for this drawing, except maybe the Knightsbridge (checkerboard) part.
I am interested in learning more (or reviewing) the basics of perspective. That area was a deliberate exercise, i.e., the Knightsbridge tapers to a point and appears to disappear into the horizon. I enjoy creating something that has obvious coherence without having had a deliberate plan. I teach for a living, and I feel happiest when lesson plans work this way.
